Five Fragrance Faves for #NationalFragranceDay

Happy National Fragrance Day loves! I’ve been on a perfume kick recently. Really, I’d call it a self discovery? Fragrance is one of those things that I’ve always adored and been both knowledgeable and passionate about, but I just didn’t realize how much until recently. Plus, I’ve fallen deep into a “perfume tok” hole (simultaneously feeding my TikTok addiction, and frankly, there’s no escaping.

So in the spirit of tacky (and probably made up) holidays, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite fragrances with you all in honor of this particular one. Specifically, I’m going to share some of my favorite gourmand scents (think: vanilla, sugar, coffee, etc.) And now that I’ve probably made you think about your next trip to Starbucks, let’s get started.

1. Good Girl Eau de Parfum by Carolina Herrera

Good Girl has been my favorite for years now. I’ve been hooked ever since I first discovered it. To me, Good Girl is young, sophisticated, bad ass, mysterious, and sexy. This is my favorite fragrance to wear for a night out. It’s elegant and classic with, dare I say, the potential to be this generation’s Chanel No. 5?! I just can’t get enough. And the bottle is a work of art, truly.

Top notes: sambac jasmine, tuberose crystal; middle notes: velvet almond; base notes: tonka bean, cocoa, coffee bean

Lasting power: eau de parfums typically last well on the skin, and this one is no exception. I’ve sprayed scarves and have worn them days later with the scent still lingering.

2. La vie est Belle Eau de Parfum by Lancôme

This scent is just simply beautiful. There are no other words. It is a staple in my collection. When I think sweet fragrances, this comes to the forefront. It’s sweet and ethereal in the best way and not at all sickening. It’s classic and endearing. This is the scent of that girl when you were younger that could literally do no wrong and was seemingly perfect, charming, and always put together. I am very much not that girl, but La vie est belle let’s me live out this farfetched fantasy that I am.

Top notes: iris; middle notes: patchouli; base notes: spun sugar, warm vanilla

Lasting power: similar to that of Good Girl by Carolina Herrera, the scent stays throughout the day beautifully and effortlessly.

3. BONBON Eau de Parfum by Viktor&Rolf

This is probably the sweetest fragrance on this whole list, but it is just done so well that I am obsessed. BONBON to me is like take the bad ass energy from Good Girl and dip it in pure sugar. It is young, delicious but also sophisticated and seductive. If I’m not wearing Good Girl for a night on the town, then I’m wearing BONBON. The two are feminine spirits that could just take on the f*cking world. Queen. Shit.

Top notes: mandarin; middle notes: orange blossom; base notes: caramel

Lasting power: it lasts beautifully throughout the day, no complaints on my end. I typically will layer it with the same scented body lotion to promote longevity!

4. My Happy Cocoa & Cashmere Perfume Spray by Clinique

When this first came out not too long ago, it quickly became an obsession. This is my absolute favorite of the My Happy collection from Clinique. It’s just cozy and sweet. It’s comforting, warm, and makes me want to snuggle up close to a fire at night wearing my favorite sweater and surrounded by pine trees. It layers well with the other My Happy fragrances, but I love to wear it on its own.

Top notes: cocoa, vanilla, golden amber; middle notes: musks, pink pepper, jasmine; base notes: honeysuckle, solar salicylates

Lasting power: it’s definitely one that you’d need to reapply throughout the day, but I don’t mind at all. The size of the fragrances in this collection make them super portable and easy to throw in your purse for on the go touch-ups!

5. Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere Eau de Toilette by Philosophy

This fragrance is one that I’ve secretly admired from afar forever. Every time I would smell it, I’d think to myself, “This is right up my alley and has all the qualities of my favorite scents. I need to get my hands on it,” and it wasn’t until recently that I finally took the plunge and did. And I’m so glad. This is the perfect mix of sweet and warm. Vanilla lovers rejoice! I love this one especially in the fall time, but it is composed of such classic notes that you can rock this fragrance year round!

Top notes: juicy tangerine; middle notes: cashmere wood, orchid; base notes: vanilla bean, creamy sandalwood, skin musk

Lasting power: being an eau de toilette, it doesn’t last that long, and that might be what kept me from purchasing it for a while (but given this information the price point is comparably reasonable). Definitely one that you’ll need to reapply periodically throughout the day. Recommend getting a travel size or atomizer of this one!

Have you guys smelled any of these scents before or own any? Which one sounds the most interesting? Also don’t forget to comment down below and let me know what your signature fragrance is. I’d love to check some of them out!
